GOVERNING COUNCIL

The institute has a governing council that is made up of highly experienced men and women with responsibility for making broad policies that will guide its day to day operations. Its Chairperson shall be an accomplished serving or retired officer in either the public or private sector with a record of untamed service.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The operational activity of the institute is to be led by the Executive Director who doubles as the council secretary and administrative head of the institute.

REGISTRAR

The registrar has responsibility for the day to day running of the INSTITUTE and the INSTITUTE programmes. He also maintains the membership register.

 

IRM is organized into four key departments, namely:

Human Capacity Building Department

Key responsibilities of the department include curriculum development and evaluation, training and allied services.

CONSULTANCY, RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION DEPARTMENT

This unit will provide advisory and counselling services to members, enabling them to assess the evolving environment in which retirees operate in Nigeria. In this respect, it will carry out interest mapping, feasibility studies, conduct research and publish outcomes; manage media and events.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND HUMANITARIAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT

This unit will focus on potential entrepreneurial retirees who wish to start a business after leaving formal work. They will be empowered with clear and viable business ideas in line with their interest, passion and humanitarian persuasions. The institute will help them develop good and sustainable business plans with leads to credible sources of financing.

ADVOCACY DEPARTMENT

The institute will ensure that retirees, particularly those who are most vulnerable, are able to have their voices heard on issues pertaining to their benefits and wellness. Their rights as retirees will be defended, while their wellbeing in line with relevant UN provisions will be championed and safeguarded.
