Alhaji Isa Bello Sali, CFR, is the pioneer Council Chairman of the Institute of Retirement Management, Nigeria.
A graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science, (BSc.) Political Science, Second Class Upper Division. He is a thorough bred and astute administrator who moved from local, sub-national to national phalanx of the public service where he gravitated from the parastatal to the mainstream of the Federal Civil Service.
In the course of his career, he served as a Deputy Director in the Office of The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) – a critical engine house of the Federal Government and later rose to the rank of director in 2001.
His career in the Office of The Secretary to the Government of the Federation availed him the opportunity for complex, strategic and routine ad hoc tasks, thereby cutting his teeth in readiness for the crowning glory of his career .
In 2006, he was appointed a Permanent Secretary and he served exceptionally in the following capacities:
- Political Affairs Office
- Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development
- Federal Ministry of Interior
- Federal Ministry of Power
- The Common Services Office in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation
In September 2011, he was appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
In the course of his career, Alhaji Sali, attended many courses and workshops within and outside Nigeria which includes the Leadership and Development Course at Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, M.A in 2008.
As a seasoned Administrator and a Member of the Nigerian institute of Management (NIM), Alhaji Sali is also a recipient of many letters of commendation and other awards which includes an award of “Champion of Service Delivery” by the SERVICOM Office in 2007.
In recognition of his meritorious service to his fatherland, Alhaji Sali was awarded the National Honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2009 and the National Honor of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) in 2011. He is also a recipient of the traditional title, “Dan Masanin Mubi” in 2009.
Alhaji Sali is married to Dr. Maryam and they are blessed with children.
